도시 공간의 문화적 의미 -문화카페 '싸목싸목'을 중심으로

Abstract

After the great game of 'Alpha Go' vs 'Lee Sedol' in 2016, we were told 'Artificial Intelligence(AI)' and the world is rapidly changing with the 4th Industrial Revolution. This phenomenon can be discussed in the cultural category where times coexist, and in the overflow of information human beings discover the true value of life. In the middle of amazing changes, modern people are interacting with each other and enjoying life culture to realize the value of life through cultural space. In particular, the village unit's living culture space is a place where residents with common ties share daily exchanges within a closer network of relationships, and the village's voluntary participation is unique. There have been many previous researches on the town development project that have been accomplishing for a certain period of time through the support of government agencies and local autonomous entities. However, There are not many researches on the self-governing organizations that have been steadily carrying on the business for the villages by utilizing the effective space of the villages. Therefore, this study has focused on the small village café called 'Ssamok-Ssamok' which has been operated by the residents themselves since its establishment and the reasons are as follows. First, the residents are creating positive energy for life culture by themselves, breaking away from the support system implemented by the government by establishing cooperative cafés for the village Second, I research that 'village café' which is based on the concept of culture and the theoretical basis of cultural space operated by cooperative citizens' dream. so that is not a mere commercial purpose cafe, but rather a cultural issue Influence of everyday life The living culture, which has expanded the interest and participation of the residents' communities, can play its role through the center of the cultural space. This space is a shared space and a social space before it is a cultural space. Residents who are looking for a cultural space recognize their role as an activist, not the manager and the user organization, but all of them are the subjects of participation, and they are expanding the scope of activities based on the cultural space. Therefore, if small cafés and effective spaces in the town can be re-created as cultural spaces of the village by adding humanistic values in accordance with local characteristics, the village movement that is created through culture will be a wonderful place where individuals and communities become richer communication and exchanges will be transformed.|-국문 초록-

2016년 ‘알파고’와 ‘이세돌’ 9단의 대국 이후 우리는 ‘인공지능’이란 말을 듣게 되었고 제4차 산업혁명과 함께 세상은 급속도로변하고 있다. 이러한 현상은 시대가 공존하는 문화적 범주에서 논할 수 있으며, 넘쳐나는 정보들 속에서 인간은 삶의 진정한 가치를 발견해 나간다. 놀라운 변화 속에 현대인들은 문화공간을 통해서 삶의 가치를 실현하기 위해 서로 소통하고 공유하며 생활문화를 향유해 나가고 있다. 특히 마을 단위의 생활문화 공간은 공통의 유(類)를 가진 주민들이 더욱 밀접한 관계망 속에 일상생활의 교류를 나누는 곳으로 주민들의 자발적 참여를 통해 이루어진다는 데 그 차별성이 있다.

지금까지 마을 만들기 사업에 있어 정부 기관이나 지방자치단체의 지원을 통해 일정 기간 성과를 내고 있는 선행연구들은 많이 있었으나 마을의 유효공간을 활용해 주민들 자력으로 마을을 위한 사업을 꾸준하게 진행하고 있는 자생 단체들에 관한 연구 자료들은 그리 많지 않았다. 이에 본 연구는 설립단계에서부터 주민들 스스로가 주축이 되어 지금까지 운영되고 있는 ‘싸목싸목’이라는 작은 마을 카페를 주목하게 되었는데 그 이유는 다음과 같다.

첫째, 주민들 스스로 참여하는 마을 운동을 위해 협동조합 카페를 설립하여 관(官)에서 시행하는 지원사업 틀에서 벗어나 자력으로 생활문화에 대한 긍정적 에너지를 만들어 가고 있다는 점이다. 둘째, 문화의 개념과 문화공간의 이론적 근거를 토대로 협동조합 시민의 꿈에서 운하 하는 마을 카페가 단순한 상업적 목적의 카페가 아닌 문화적 이슈(issue)와 소통의 장(場)으로 일상적 영향을 미치고 있다는 점에서 관심을 두게 되었다.

주민공동체의 주체적 관심과 참여가 확대된 생활문화는 문화공간이라는 구심점을 통해 본연의 임무를 수행할 수 있다. 여기에 공간은 문화공간이기 전에 공유 공간이고 사회공간이다. 문화공간을 찾는 주민들도 관리자와 사용자 구도가 아닌, 모두가 참여의 주체라는 활동가의 역할을 인지하고, 문화공간을 거점으로 활동의 범위를 넓혀가고 있는 것이다. 따라서 마을에 있는 작은 카페들과 유효공간들이 지역 특성에 맞게 인문학적 가치를 더해 마을의 문화공간으로 거듭날 수 있다면, 문화를 통해 만들어지는 마을 운동은 개인과 지역사회를 더욱 풍성한 소통과 교류의 장으로 탈바꿈하게 될 것이다.
