Abstract
In this paper, we study the application of electrochemical machining (ECM) for the machining of internal features. The direction of the electrode tool can be controlled by using the magnetic force between the magnets. For this purpose, the change of the magnetic force according to the distance between the magnets was analyzed, and the optimum distance between the magnets was determined. The electrode tool with the magnet inserted therein is machined in the workpiece and is moved in the direction inducing the external magnetic force, so that it is possible to process the inner groove feature, which is very difficult in the conventional process. The purpose of this study is to identify the various possibilities of creating complex internal structures for workpieces such as molds by machining by ECM. This process is expected to be used effectively in various fields.
