Abstract

The purpose of this study is to investigate the effect of self – leadership on the relationship between career barriers perceived by college students and career aspirations. This study was conducted through a questionnaire survey of 344 students attending universities in Gwangju area. The scale used in the study a Care Aspiration Scale (CAS), In the case of the Korean college student career disability search test (KCBI), The self-leadership scale (RSLQ) was used. The hypotheses of the study were verified by correlation and structural equation analysis using SPSS 23.0 and AMOS 24.0. The results were summarized as follows. First, the relationship between career barriers and career aspirations perceived by college students is statistically significant. Second, career barriers perceived by college students influence self – leadership. Third, self-leadership affects career aspirations. Finally, self – leadership was partially mediated in the relationship between career barriers perceived by college students and career aspirations. The results of this study show that the higher the perceived career barrier, the less self – leadership, which tends to lower career aspirations. Finally, implications and limitations were discussed based on the results of the study.
