The Mediating Effects of Abandonment Schema in Relation between Differentiation of Self and Relationship addiction

The purpose of this study was investigate the mediated effects of Abandonment Schema on the Relationship Differentiation of Self and Relationship addiction among Undergraduates. This research was done by conducting surveys from 304 undergraduates who are attending universities in Gwangju, Jeollanam-do, Jeollabuk-do. The scales used in the study were The Differentiation of Self Inventory: DSI-R, The Abandonment Schema of Korea Schema Questionnaire and Relationship Addiction Questionnaire-30 for Undergraduates: RAQ-30. The collected data were analyzed by SPSS 24.0. The results were summarized as follows. First, A result in the examination of the Relationships among Differentiation of Self, Abandonment Schema and Relationship Addiction is statistically significant. Second, Differentiation of Self affects Abandonment Schema, Relationship Addiction. Third, Abandonment Schema affects Relationship Addiction. Fourth, Abandonment Schema was partially mediated between Differentiation of Self and Relationship Addiction. Finally, The implications and limitations of this study were discussed based on the results of the study.
