Recently, the lack of physical activity has exposed the obese middle-aged women to health care is urgent. Therefore, in this study, we investigated the effect of circulation exercise program on obese factors, active oxygen and antioxidant-related factors in middle-aged women. The subjects were 20 obese middle-aged women, randomly assigned to the exercise group and control group and 0 and 12 weeks of measurement (obese factors, active oxygen, antioxidant-related factors) were performed twice. For 12 weeks, exercise groups were allowed to perform cycling under the same conditions as they were and the control group was measured without any management. For the statistical methods, we used the corresponding sample t-test to see the difference between before and after each group, and the two-way repeated measure ANOVA was used to verify the difference between the measurement period and the group. The statistical setting was α=.05 and the following conclusions were obtained.
In the obesity-related factors, the body fat percentage showed a statistically significant difference in the exercise group, while it increased in the control group, there was a statistically significant difference. The interaction effects were observed between the measurement period and the group. Body mass index(BMI) showed statistically significant difference in exercise group. while it increased in the control group, there was a statistically significant difference. The interaction effects were observed only in the group and the measurement period.
Changes in reactive oxygen species decreased in the exercise group and showed statistically significant differences. The interaction effects were observed only in the group and the measurement period.
The changes in antioxidant-related factors(antioxidant capacity) increased in the exercise group and showed statistically significant differences. The interaction effects were observed only in the group and the measurement period.
Taken together, these results suggest that cycling programs have positive effects on obese factors, active oxygen and antioxidant-related factors(antioxidant capacity), which is recommended for middle-aged women. If the exercise duration is prolonged and the exercise intensity is gradually increased, it will be possible to prevent and treat various lifestyle–related disease by increasing the elimination of obesity, active oxygen removal and antioxidant power in middle age.
