- Abstract
- This study was carried out with various solvents for the acquisition efficiency of arsenic gas contained in tailings.
The solvents used in this experiment are Silver diethyldithiocarbamate solution((C2H5)2NCS2Ag), Ethanol(C2H5OH), Methanol(CH3OH), Acetone(CH3COCH3), Water, Phosphoric acid(H3PO4), Chloroform(CHCl3), Ammonia water(NH4OH), Sodium hypochlorite(NaClO), Perchloric acid(HClO4), Hydrochloric acid(HCl), Sulfuric acid(H2SO4) and Nitric acid(HNO3).
As a result, it was confirmed that diethyldithiocarbamate acid absorbed arsenic gas at a concentration of 1.0 mg/L, with 100% of the gas absorbed. The highly volatile solvent had low persistence when compared with the acquisition efficiency. A high arsenic concentration of 5.0 N HNO3 was absorbed at an efficiency of about 100%, which demonstrates that diethyldithiocarbamate acid’s acquisition efficiency and, persistence were excellent. In addition, the experimental results show that increasing concentrations of HNO3 lead to increased acquisition efficiency.
Under optimum conditions, when the abandoned mine tailings were used, a capture rate of 45.92% was obtained by acquisition of 1,372.4 mg/L from total arsenic concentration of 2,989 mg/kg.
