This study aims at securing consistency of trade partner countries and industries by utilizing the total export decomposition methodology of WWZ (2013) which overcomes the limit of existing researches and securing consistency with each other by using WIOT Relase 2016 (2000-2014), Which is complementary to the time limit. In addition, the effect of trade liberalization on total exports(intermediate and final goods) and value added exports was analyzed using a gravity model.
As a result, it can be interpreted that Korea and Taiwan are adopting a strategy to increase the degree of integration with GVCs as an open economy of small countries and to supply more intermediate goods from abroad and to enhance export competitiveness in terms of price and quality.
However, from a negative point of view, it can be said that the export rate of domestic economic income is lower than the US or EU.
Based on the gravity model, the effects of FTA, exchange rate volatility, economic freedom and technology level on Korea 's value - added exports are summarized as follows.
First, Korea's FTA signifies a trade creation effect in both total exports and final exports based on total exports, total exports based on total exports, and value added exports.
However, there has been no value-added trade creation effect in computers, electronics, optics, electrical appliances, machinery and other equipment, and automobiles, ships and other transport equipment, which have been recognized as major preferential industries of the FTA.
Second, if the real effective exchange rate of the Korean Won / trading partner exceeds the reference point in 2010, which is the baseline year for total exports and value added exports.
Third, the effect of the economic freedom of the trading partner is positive (+) in increasing exports in terms of total export and value added exports On the other hand, as the degree of economic freedom of Korea increases, Conversely, negative effects of exports declining were observed. Fourth, as Korea's technological level increases, the positive effect of increasing total exports by total value and value added is observed.
