제품디자인 개발 유형에 따른 디자인방법론 적용 가이드라인

Abstract

산업이 발전함에 따라 디자인 패러다임 또한 변화하고 진화해왔다. 산업화를 이끄는데 있어 제품디자인의 역할은 조형성을 넘어 통합적 사고를 통한 문제해결을 중심으로 변화해 왔고, 이에 다양한 제품디자인의 창의적인 아이디어를 통한 문제해결 능력이 요구됨에 따라 다양한 방법론들이 등장하고 적용되어왔다. 다양한 방법론의 등장으로 창의적인 아이디어를 도출할 수 있는 논리적인 방안으로 인식하고 있으나 복잡해진 제품개발 프로세스를 대응할 수 있는 방법론의 부재로 제품개발 프로세스별 상황이 고려되지 못하는 한계점을 확인할 수 있었다. 이에 본 연구에서는 제품디자이너 관점에서 디자인방법론의 체계적인 접근을 지원할 수 있는 방안으로 제품디자인 개발 유형 및 특성을 재분류 하고 제품개발 프로세스에 따라 적용 가능한 디자인방법론을 제안하고자 한다. 그 과정으로 기술‧기능‧감성‧조형을 기준으로 혁신제품을 분석하여 제품디자인 개발 유형을 'SE유형', 'SEF유형', 'SEFT유형' 3가지로 분류하였다. 각 유형별 제품개발 프로세스에 따라 적용할 수 있는 디자인방법론을 도출하기 위해 프리그룹핑과 동질성 분석을 시행하였다. 결과 값을 맵으로 구체화한 후 적용 패턴을 파악하였으며, 패턴을 기반으로 제품디자인 개발 유형에 따른 디자인방법론 적용 가이드라인을 플로차트로 제안하였다. 이는 제품개발 유형에 따른 제품개발 프로세스의 특성으로 고려한 디자인방법론을 제시한 연구결과로 혼재되어있는 디자인방법론의 사용시기를 제품개발 프로세스 별 상황에 따라 제안함으로서 제품디자이너들의 창의적인 사고를 통한 문제해결 능력이 요구되어질 때 효율적으로 활용될 수 있는 도구로 활용되어지길 기대한다.|Design paradigm has experienced transformation and evolution with the industrial development. The role of product design has been changed arraying its focus mainly on problem solving by integrative thinking beyond the formativeness. As there has been a rising demand of problem solving ability using innovative ideas on various product designs, a variety of methodologies have been appeared and applied. The study figured out limitations of insufficient considerations for different product development processes due to absence of methodologies to come up with more complex product development processes even though such various methodologies were deemed a logical way to draw innovative ideas. To this end, the study attempts to present design methodologies applicable to different product development processes through and after regrouping of the development types and nature as a way to better approach design methodologies systematically from the viewpoint of a product designer. As the concerning process, innovative products were analyzed based on technology, function and formativeness and also classified the development types into ‘SE’, ‘SEF’ and ‘SEFT’. Free grouping and homogeneity analysis have been conducted to draw the design methodologies applicable to each type of development process. Base on the analysis results, application pattern was identified through map specification then guidelines for design methodology application was suggested according to the development types of product design. As this study suggests an application tool of design methodologies according to the suitable situation of design development process including development types and timing considering characteristics of product design development process, it is expected that the suggested methodology could be used as an effective tool when it comes to the demand of problem solving ability by product designers’ innovative thinking.
