Abstract
In order to put the development of Ni-MH secondary battery with long life and high capacity, It is necessary to study the improvement of hydrogen storage alloy which is a cathode material and the battery assembly and manufacturing technology. The reason why the Ni-HM secondary battery is not widely used is not necessarily the development technology of the negative electrode material but problem with assembly technology, the alloy melting process, the anode manufacturing technology, the capacity design of the anode and cathode, the safety valve design, the battery welding suitable for the mass production facility. To solve the problem, Initially plasma and TIG arc heat source was used, but laser welding, which is a high density heat source, was applied due to damage and deformation problems of the separation membrane. As a result of the prototype product, it was judged that the strength of the welded part was insufficient, and finally laser brazing process was applied to improve the bonding strength.
