Abstract

This paper was composed to be based on the program of graduation concert performance for the purpose of master’s degree of the researcher. According to the program, Musical works were chosen from various vocal music programs and the researcher examined each composers’ lifetime and historical backgrounds, and essential note analysis, the way of expression also. It was because the researcher felt the necessity of analytic study for the characteristics of songs needed for the play. Moreover, the expressions of vocal play should contain the deep understanding of the linguistic, regional expressions. Therefore, In this graduation concert, the program was organized to be focused on five languages like Italy, German, English, French, Russian that the researcher studied for the vocal performance. There were some precede papers with similar themes about harmonic analysis and music analysis of accompaniment and melody, but a topic about the way of expressions depending on the cultural area were rarely found. According to this result, the necessity of examination on the contents and musical notes of various songs and song cycles, a study about appropriate ways of expressions were risen. The main purpose of the study on this paper is to analyze note of songs and arias of the composers so to be able to look into the accurate expressions for the performance. It is also to make a consideration of features and the way of expressions organizing a melody in a music. The means for the study was based on the research of precede papers of composers' works for finding out the delicate and accurate way of expressions, and the process of practicing the music and getting lectures for the performance. The songs of Italian composer Vivaldi which was written in the monodic vocal style with simple melodies and harmonic accompaniment, which was chosen for the play. In his works, The rhythm flows on the accent of the lyrics so the dramatic emotions and beautiful melodies were analysed for the vocal techniques. In the age of romanticism, the song , one of the numbers in in the opera of Donizetti, which is a cute and cheerful Norina's aria that needs good expression of rhythm and ornaments, and a recitative with plenty of breath, was chosen to find other features which could add rich flavor of the music. The Mahler's lied aria, in the age of latter romanticism, is the song lied by poetry. It was composed according to the rhyme of a poem. so It was chosen to examine the musical progress of the melody and prelude, odd meter, and unique rhythm and chromatic scale. , the song cycle of 20C's british composer Ronald, was written by the comparison of the Life and love to four seasons. It consists of five songs referring to the begin of love, the meeting, farewell, and death of life. so the researcher is going to try to find out the context and the atmosphere of the music by the study of significant melodies and rhythm, and the way of musical progression in the song cycle. , the song cycle of 20C's french composer Satie, is the great song of short but musicality and expressions are outstanding. Five songs in total, it expresses the features of animals and the situation in front, It could be cynical or critical, or the poetry of request is found. They are songs with a play of words which could be enjoyable. The important musical features of this work is to deliver the witty and meaningful lyrics with intensive melody and rhythm. The song lied of late 19C's russian composer Rachmaninoff was written by the quotation of poetry. The melody of song is emotional and romantic just as the story of poet itself. It also has a melody of sadness and grief emotions and tunes of the beauty of nature portrait. It has a long respiration that are able to express the abundant emotions and the feeling of lingering atmosphere. In this study, the researcher closely examined the features and historical backgrounds of each musical works and made a consideration for the way of rich expressions through the note analysis for the actual performance, It was meaningfully helpful to study those notes which were based on the practice in the course of master's degree in the graduate school. Therefore, I expect that this research to be utilized as a meaningful data among the vocal artists for the practical techniques and musical expressions in the progress of examination and performance .

|본 논문은 연구자의 석사학위 취득을 위한 졸업연주 프로그램을 중심으로 구성하였다. 이에 따라 다양한 성악연주 프로그램 중 연주악곡을 선택하여 각 작품들에 대한 작곡가들의 생애와 시대적 배경을 알아보았다. 그리고 성악연주에서 필요한 악곡 분석과 표현방법에 대하여 살펴보았다. 이는 본 연구자가 석사학위 과정 동안 악곡을 연주함에 있어서 가곡들의 특성에 대한 분석적 연구가 필요함을 느꼈으며, 더욱이 성악연주에서의 표현은 언어별, 지역별 가곡의 표현방법에 대한 깊은 이해가 수반되어야하기 때문이다. 따라서 졸업연주에서는 다양한 문화권의 언어를 익히고 성악연주를 위해 공부한 5개 나라 즉, 이태리어, 독일어와 영어, 프랑스어, 러시아어의 언어를 중심으로 구성하였다. 그러나 본 연구와 동일한 주제의 악곡으로 화성적 분석, 반주 및 선율분석을 주제로 한 논문은 다수 있었지만, 문화권에 따른 악곡의 표현방법과 연주표현에서는 미흡함을 알게 되었다. 이에 다양한 가곡과 연가곡의 내용 및 악보를 살펴보고 그에 맞는 표현방법에 대하여 연구해야할 필요성을 생각하게 되었다. 본 연구의 목적은 각 악곡을 연주함에 있어서 알아야 할 작곡가들의 가곡 및 아리아의 악보를 분석하여 올바른 표현방법을 살펴보고, 연가곡을 구성하고 있는 각 악곡의 특징과 표현방법에 대해 고찰해 보는 것이다. 본 연구의 방법에서는 먼저 졸업연주를 준비하며 실기레슨과 악곡을 연습하는 과정 그리고 섬세하고 올바른 표현방법을 위하여 각 작곡가들의 작품과 선행논문의 검색을 기초로 하였다. 그리고 바로크시대 이탈리아 작곡가 비발디의 가곡들은 단순한 선율에 화성반주가 있는 모노디양식으로 탐색하였으며 가사의 강세에 맞춘 리듬표현과 극적인 감정과 아름다운 선율을 성악적인 기법으로 분석하였다. 낭만주의시대에는 이탈리아 작곡가 도니제티의 오페라의 는 극 중 노리나의 활발하고 귀여운 성격이 잘 표현된 아리아이다. 악곡에 제시되어진 리듬과 꾸밈음을 잘 표현하고 이야기를 하는 것과 같이 레치타티보를 충분한 호흡을 사용하여 악곡의 맛을 더 할 수 있는 요소를 찾으려 하였다. 후기낭만주의시대의 말러의 가곡은 시에 의한 가곡으로 시의 운율에 맞추어 작곡이 되었으므로, 악곡의 선율진행과 전조 또는 변박 그리고 독특한 리듬과 반음계진행을 분석하고자 하였다. 20세기 영국작곡가 로날드의 연가곡 는 삶과 사랑을 사계절로 비유하였다. 총 5곡으로 구성된 연가곡은 삶과 사랑의 시작과 만남과 이별과 죽음을 나타내고자 하였다. 연가곡에서의 특징적인 선율과 리듬, 악곡의 진행을 통하여 각 곡의 분위기와 내용을 알아보고자 한다. 20세기 프랑스작곡가 사티의 연가곡 는 짧고 표현력과 음악성이 돋보이는 연가곡이다. 총 5곡으로 동물의 모습과 눈앞의 상황을 묘사하여 감정을 표현하거나, 조롱하고 비판하는 내용과 당부의 시가 있으며, 재미있게 언어유희를 표현할 수 있는 곡들이다. 각 곡은 독창적인 선율과 리듬, 그리고 재치 있고 의미 있는 가사의 전달이 중요한 음악적 요소라고 생각 된다. 19세기후반 러시아작곡가 라흐마니노프의 가곡은 시를 인용하여 작곡하였다. 가곡의 선율은 시의 내용을 그대로 옮겨놓은 것 같은 감상적이고 낭만적인 것을 알 수 있다. 또한 슬프고 비통한 감정과 자연을 묘사한 선율로 긴 호흡을 사용하여 풍부한 감정과 산만하지 않고 여운이 있는 분위기를 표현 할 수 있다. 본 연구에서는 각 작곡가들의 작품의 시대적배경과 특징을 살펴보았고, 실제 성악 연주에 필요한 악보를 분석하여 성악표현의 유의점에 대해 고찰해 보았다. 또한 대학원의 석사학위 과정에서 분석적이며, 탐색적으로 악보를 연구한 내용을 기초로 하여 실제 연주 시 악곡 표현에 많은 도움이 되었다. 따라서 본 연구가 성악실기 연주자에게 작품들을 연구하고 연주하는 과정에서 실기적인 기법과 악곡표현을 연구를 위하여 유의미한 자료로 활용되기를 기대한다.
