Abstract
Development of semi-cruise ship that can safely be available for public is required to cope with the rapid change in the world shipbuilding market.
In this study, for semi-cruise ship of 1,000-ton class, optimal design is possible to establish optimal size and add efficiency of space arrangement through 3D modeling design. In sequence of design, first step was establishment of 3D modeling and then performance verification with determination of principal dimension was performed for 3D model.
Therefore, the purpose of this study is to evaluate the structural stability of deck structure in pleasure ship when the pillar (Fr. 83) positioned between Upper Deck and A-Deck was removed to free up space. MSC. Patran was used for making analysis model as pre-post processor and also Nastran was used for analysis as solver program.
As a result of structural analysis, the stress values for all load cases were acceptable for permissible stress (182.45 N/mm2) and max. Von-mises stress was 177.2 N/mm2 under combination of primary and secondary loading condition. Consequentially, validity of removal of pillar was verified because the upper deck structure had acceptable strength when pillar of Fr. 83 was removed on A-deck.
