FTA 체결이 한국 섬유·의류산업 무역에 미치는 효과 분석

Abstract

The purpose of this study is about how FTA(Free Trade Agreement) actually impacts on textile–apparel industry, which stands to benefit from 2004 Korea–Chile FTA through lately TPP, and how to use FTA strategically to find out the textile–apparel industry’ way into world market. In fact, the technique and quality parts of Korean textile–apparel industry fall behind the advanced countries. Also, compare to developing countries, we are starting to undermine price competitiveness. Because of this situation, Korean companies started to operate the overseas such as Indonesia, China and Vietnam to take advantage of low cost labor and infrastructures. I analyzed, by using with panel GLS model and RE model, export inductive effect and import inductive effect when companies operate foreign direct investment. However, when exporting the textile–apparel products that made in another countries to the world (include Korea), should have to follow the complicated Criteria of the Determination of Origin in order to apply the preferential tariff as well as prove the textile – apparel product is goods within the area. therefore, if the rules of origin strictly set-up in the agreement, it is difficult to apply the benefits of preferential tariff although the range of preferential tariff and long period of bounded. as a result, the standard is regulated clearly after arranging the major process standard and criteria of the Determination of Origin that through the item.
