한국의 선거범죄 추이에 관한 연구: 1994-2014년

Abstract

This study examines changes in election crimes in Korea since its democratization. More specifically, this study examines whether the intensifying penalties of election crimes reduces their occurrences. This study shows that both serious and misdemeanor crimes increased continuously after the integrated election law was established in 1994, but decreased steadily after the election law was amended in 2004 when the legal punishment of election crimes was critically intensified. Based on these findings, this study claims that increasing criminal penalties has a critical suppression impact on election crimes in Korea.
