The purpose of this study was to investigate the effect of 8-week pilates exercise on blood components and body changes in middle-aged women. Pilates exercise aims to provide basic data to middle-aged women who are in the postmenopausal period as one of the exercises that can provide effective exercise programs to prevent aging.
Changes in blood components decreased in total cholesterol, low density lipoprotein cholesterol, and triglyceride and increased in high density lipoprotein cholesterol, showing a statistically significant difference(p<.01, p<.01, p<.01, p<.05).
In body changes, there was no significant difference in body weight, but there was statistically significant difference in body fat percentage(p<.05).
Looking at the results above, we found that the Pilates exercise improves the blood components and changes the body to middle-aged women, which is a positive and effective exercise to maintain health and prevent aging. These results are thought to be the result of the active participation of the subjects and I think that if I continuously exercise pilates for a long time, I will be able to lead a healthy life in anti aging period.
