요양병원 요양보호사의 감염관리 수행도 관련요인

Abstract

Objective: A care worker at long term care hospitals was likely to become a pathogen-mediator for patients who are susceptible to infection if they had a high level of physical contact with the patient and poorly performing infection control. Because there were few studies on infection control and related factors for care worker, the purpose of this study was to investigate the actual situation related with infection control and the effect of infection control performance.

Methods: Total 11 long term care hospitals were selected in G Metropolitan city and made the questionnaire read and answered by themselves. A total of 182 items were used for data analysis performed using SPSS 16.0

Results: The knowledge of infection control was 15.43±2.61, and the performance of infection control was 4.07±0.58. In simple analysis, the final educational background, health status, etc. are significantly related to infection control performance. Infection control knowledge and performance were positively correlated, and education level was significantly related to infection control performance in high school graduates and college graduates compared to those in junior high school graduates. Conclusion: Since care workers are exposed to the possibility of becoming mediators of communicable disease, it was thought that it would be helpful to control infections effectively if we improve the performance through infection control training
