음악 교육에서의 대중음악 활용에 관한 연구 -중학교 음악교육을 중심으로

Music education is to enable individual students to achieve self-realization through music by developing their innate musical talents maximally. The ultimate goal of school music education is to enhance creative abilities of students and equip the students with right sense of value, based on various musical experiences. However students of middle schools are losing interest in music class of school, and the necessity of music education is also getting weaken.
To efficiently approach the goal of school music education under this situation, the realistic and practical school music education should be conducted in reflection of the interests and needs of those students who favor the popular music.
In this paper, presents the definition of popular music, then analyzes the popular music listed on the music textbook of the 7th-curriculum based on the course of development of popular music and the relation between the current popular music and students. And it provides the survey on the current situation of using popular music in music class, based on the theoretical research. As a result, student wants to learn popular music in class, to increase the number of popular music in music textbook. Finally, a utilizing the popular music in a traditional music learning method is presented to bring more interest of student in music class, to develop various and wide musicality, and to narrow the distance between teachers and students.
Nobody deeply think of the importance and potential possibility of the music education. Proper understanding and in-depth research on the popular music that the adolescent establish their own perfect sense of value, should be carried out. In doing so, if a students' desire for various genres of music is satisfied, and if a teacher has the proper understanding on popular music and studies on popular music, in view of all this, it is expected to come closer to the ultimate goal of school music education for the students.
