As current society is emphasizing creation of knowledge rather than simple measurement of knowledge, it demands more creative people. Music education plays an important role in nurturing creative people that are demanded by this society . And music education aims at improvement of creativity and creation of various music education activities makes the most direct contribution to development of creation.
However, to examine real education at schools, music education does not amount to the level asked by current society, only focusing on singing. In addition, creation has poorer recognition than other areas and its teaching has been considered as hard so that the effect of learning is not very good.
Therefore, this study analyses the contents of creation in music textbooks of secondary and high schools. And to help students understand the process of creation specifically and to achieve the goals of creation education in music, this study presents more effective plan of creation education.
First, this study identifies the degree of presentation in each area and the weight of creation.
Second, this study analyses what is presented in learning activities of creation centering on textbooks.
Third, through preceeding and bibliographical studies, it examines the necessity of creation learning and teachers' roles.
Fourth, based on the elements of creation learning, this study presents effective teaching plans that can be applied for creation class.
This study presents teaching plans on creation based on curriculum, but to activate the education of creation, teachers' serious recognition on the importance of creative activities and efforts should be provided. And through improvement of present teaching methods on creation, enhanced creativity of students, a goal of creation education, should be assured, in which difference in abilities of students and their various interests should be considered.
