Abstract
A Study on the Development of Emotional Intelligence through Special Ability and Aptitude Education of Dance

This study aims at identifying development of emotional intelligence of children through special ability and aptitude education of dance

For this study, it targeted children who have one hour every other week at an elementary school in G city and provided dance programs consisting of dance lesson using grade program of RAD(Royal Academy of Dance) and whose themes are Family, Group Activity, Creative Dance and Dance Appreciation for them. This study analysed the data based on the data collected through observation, interview, writing, consulting with students parents and writing letters The subjects were observed and interviewed.

The results of the study are presented as follows:

First, emotional perception and expressive ability develop due to special ability and aptitude education of dance.
These days. many people directly represent their emotion with a use of various emotional languages, writing or body representation. They respond sensitively to non-linguistic representation, interpret other people's emotion through analogy, pay more attention to others, identify false or manipulated expression correctly and interpret emotion of other people correctly.

Second, the special ability and aptitude education of dance promotes emotional thinking.
The subjects focus on important information without keeping unstable emotion for such a long time to decide priority of thoughts, which is helpful in lowering unstability. They decide priority of information to overcome their conflicts smoothly. They express their emotion actively to understand and consider others' emotion.

Third, the special ability and aptitude education of dance enhances utility of emotional knowledge.
The subjects understand and use complex emotion, finding that emotion is very complicating and contradictory in any situation like awe, love and hatred. They solve their problems by knowing and using the most appropriate emotional condition in given situation or problems.

Fourth, the special ability and aptitude education of dance helps students develop reflective adjustment of emotion.
They accept negative emotion through various activities of dance lesson liberally and express their emotion after evaluating the influence of their emotion on other's to overcome their conflicts wisely.
And they learn manners and norms through direct experience centering on what it happens in surrounding environment rather than abstract and conceptual instructions and properly manage their emotion based on social and cultural standards.

In conclusion, it is said that the special ability and aptitude education of dance is very effective in improvement of emotional intelligence of children.
