Abstract
The plant resources of Hwasun stream was studied to compare and analyze, and to find out how the waterside-ecopark of Hwasun stream affects on the stream plant community. The waterside of the Hwasun-eup from Dajiri to Beokrari was composed mostly river vegetation and farmland. From Beokrakyo to Gangjungchulkyo, the communities of Pinus densiflora, Persicaria thunbergii and Lepidium apetalum were dominant. From Gangjungchulkyo to Haksaribo, Persicaria thunbergii, Humulus japonicus and Oenanthe javanica-Typha orientalis were dominant. From Haksaribo to Simribo, Humulus japonicusi, Erigeron canadensis and Agropyron ciliare were dominant. From Simribo to Gigokkyo, Phragmites japonica, Pseudoraphis ukishiba, Persicaria thunbergii, Humulus japonicusi and Erigeron canadensis were dominant. From Gigokkyo to Backdongkyo, Pinus densiflora , Chamaecyparis obtusa, Phragmites japonica, Persicaria thunbergii and Pseudoraphis ukishiba were dominant. In the surveyed area 86 family 313 species were totally identified. Of the species the naturalized plants were 19 family 45 species, and their urbanization index was 20.0%. Some part of Hwasun stream was seriously polluted as a result of urbanization. Therefore it was assumed that the Hwasun stream may be constructed for an ecologically conservation area from Gigokkyo to Backdongkyo, for an ecological rehabilitation area from Simribo to Gigokkyo, and for a hydrophilic activate areas from Simribo to Beokrakyo.
