Abstract
The purpose of the study of geometry is to develop intuitive ability and logical reasoning in geometry. However, present state of education on geometry at middle school level is too much focused on the deductive aspect, neglecting association with reality and practicality, which are some of the fundamental aspects of geometry.
As a result most students are feeling discouraged and baffled by geometry in its present state. This research aims to make those students more at ease with geometry and bring them a little closer to the field. In the introductory section, instead of entering straight into different propositions and into deducting figures, this study proposes the students to first induce geometrical concepts from their everyday experiences, from which point they can then start building their deductive thinking. This study proposes teachers; to design their programs in mathematics based on individual level and daily lives of students, to prepare and develop ample data, and to increase as much as possible student's interest and motivation in learning geometry.
