It is not too much say that spontaneous play is most of life to children. Children show their infinite possibilities through play as expression activities. Namely, their modeling expression comes out as plays so this is the expression of real ego and rich imagination. On the other hand, that is one's true appearance.
This study introduces the play to be children's instinctive character as fundamental notions. And it presents children's art activities through play as a mixed genre which attempts to be integrated with other subjects. This notion transcends the concept of two or three dimensional expression as the expression domain of art subjects.
The children's art activities through play is the play which art activities are added intentionally. It includes the meaning of fine art activities added to current modern art, such as performance and installation, and it is integrated with modeling activity, music, dance, role play and physical expression.
The educational values of children's art activities through play are as follows; First, it can upgrade children's language expression skills by using art notions or a terms through play.
Second, it can raise children's intelligence ability that they can find a definite answer by thought and show the reason about one's opinion.
Third, it can widen and develop perception and sensibility.
Fourth, it makes children be absorbed in play and study because of unification of play and study and the harmony of pleasure of play and class as introducing play in art education.
Fifth, it can clean up infelicitous emotion because children can express their emotion without any particular charge in it.
Lastly, it can increase friendship through cooperation and bring growth of humanity like team spirit.
Four criterions of learning contents are presented in order to progress a desirable class of children's art activities through play. They are 1) teaching materials 2) learning space 3) guide notice 4) direction of evaluation.
This study sets up four activity themes that come under funny life subject of the first, second grade in elementary school and presents concrete practice examples of the actual class; , , ,
This study recognizes play as instinct and intends to make children to recover the power of self expression. It makes class to be more active by making children to do creative activity in funny playing atmosphere. Children should be free from uncomfortable art class by development of various play learning and applying it to art class.
