From prehistoric times up to now, Music has influenced a lot on human life. Furthermore, more importance is being placed on Music as well as other art areas because of its influence on human senses and thus on the spirits and the souls too. Therefore, the object of this study will be to provide students with appropriate Musical experiences as part of holistic education considering the fact that Musical education affects the emotional development, and to analyze the correlation between Musical education and EQ.
First, we will examine that Music plays the crucial role as part of holistic education with its emotional affection to human by considering the concept and the historical background of EQ.
Second, we will see how greatly Music has been influencing on the formation of human beings and why Music should be learned through examining the records regarding the historical changes of Musical education from the ancient Greek up to these days.
Third, we will understand the correlation between EQ and the education of appreciation, expression, and understanding, as well as the value and principles of Musical education.
Fourth, based on the theoretical grounds, the methods to improve EQ by means of Musical education and, in addition to that, the role of Music to emotional stabilization and balanced character formation will be presented.
In conclusion, not only the affection to and the interest in Music but also even the emotional development depend on how to teach Music to students. Thus, we have to keep in mind the importance of Musical education as much as that of other arts, and the fact that the cultivation and improvement of basic abilities needed in Musical experiences and activities are helpful in developing good qualities and influential in human emotions. We hope that the better environment and direction of Musical education we have, the better effects on improving EQ, sociality, and relationship will be resulted in.
