Abstract
The fine art is a part of the art, which reflects the times and culture, creates and develops the impression and thoughts of human-being through the visual expression. The art culture connects the all ages, the past, present and future and can make people feel the beauty through various education of the fine art. The primary purpose of the education is to raise the whole man with creative and critical thought power who can make student understand and succeed the fine art based on the ability of aesthetic appreciation. With the rapid change of society and increasing amount of information, visual objects are being changed day by day. So, it is necessary to increase to ability, which is the second purpose, to decide and choice the right value among the relationship with other people or lots of information comingfrom outside during daily life. In other words, through the education of the fine art, our students who may encounter the modern fine art with higher complexity, can develop the attitude to enjoy the fine art in everyday life and finally cultivate the life with beauty and exuberance.
In order to achieve the improvement in content and method of educationwith the purpose of fine art education, this study emphasize that the quality and ability of fine art teacher be improved and the professionalismof the fine art curriculumalso be enhanced. So, as in all the other genre of modern art due to the equivocality of value concept and the argument about the permitted limit, the boundary of the engraving with other artistic performances is becoming vague more and more with the change in aspect from experimental work to comprehensive and floating form. This study investigated about the effective teaching-learning method of the middle school fine art education with the extension of the above concept.
In the Chapter II, the historical changes in the engraving realm among the fine art education was reviewed in addition to the recent trend and direction of modern engravings. That is, the historical connection of changes in the fine art education since the first experience-focused education program in 1954 was reviewed and the development and direction of the modern engravings were investigated.
The current situation of fine art education and the improvement scheme for the teaching-learning method were investigated in Chapter III. The optimum condition for the effective teaching-learning could not be achieved until some conditions are fulfilled, i.e., the time-space condition, psychological condition and physical conditions. Questions were performed about the curriculum, text analysis and the teachers for the effective teaching-learning.
The primary problem in the teaching-learning of engravings is that the teachers can not display the characteristics of engravings due to the insufficiency of educational condition or limited time for the engraving performance even though the educationcurriculum or the teachers themselves recognize the importance of the engraving classes. The secondary problem is that most of texts do not contain enough explanation about engraving work and they just arrange the works in order.
Through this study, it was revealed that a prior condition for the effective teaching-learning is the knowledge of teachers about the engravings class model. In addition, it was concluded the teacher should not compel the students to the narrow point of view but enlarge their visual perception for various analysis and interpretation.
In Chapter IV, as a search of teaching-learning structure for effective engraving teaching-learning method, a specific teaching example and class model were introduced.
The effectiveness of this study in the practical application point of view was not verified because the study was limited to the literature study only. So, the successional studies are necessary. The author hopes the study about the effective engraving teaching-learning of the fine art educational curriculum to be continued.
