The purpose of this thesis is to investigate three research problems through the examination of the actual condition of the talent and aptitude dance education in elementary schools: (1) how the equipment and educational condition for dance education are in elementary schools, (2) how the content, method, and appreciation of dance education as a talent and aptitude program are performed, and (3) how the students respond to the dance education.
For the date processing in this thesis, I used SPSSWIN(statistical
packages for WINDOW) 10.0K, and Microsoft Excel for the table and figures. And for the analytic method, I used the Frequency Analysis ac ording to the research problems.
The results of the research are as follows.
First researching to the research of the educational equipment and conditions. these are 15 to 24 students in a class the educations places are mostly dancing rooms or classrooms, and most are diseatiefied with the equipment. Most teachers can't use audiovisual materials hrequently, but audio materials because of the lack of equipment. Therefore, it is necessarv to support and invest the faeilites.
Second researching the content, method, and appreciation of the dance education, I can find that they are performed tiwce a week and the dance performance are made public one or two times a year. Most teachers teach students basic dance for most of the times, and students perfer practical classes. Therefor, it is shown that the best effects of the talent and aptitude dance education are students' physical discipline and health preservation.
Third, students' responses to the dance education are as following. Most students are girls in their first or second grades attending elementary schools. They show favorable impressions on contents of the class and teachers, and the most preferable content of the class is 'learning works'.
In conclusion, therefore, it is necessary to support the equipments such as places for the dance education first of all, and the talent and aptitude dance education should be an actual education to promote students' mental health and dilettante lives, not a professional education. Furthermore, through the talent and aptitude dance education, we should give students many chances to develop their qualities aptitudes, hobbies, and talents.
