Abstract
The end of this research is to demonstrate an effect on the normal children's behavior improvement toward the handicapped by applying the handicap-understanding program.
The detailed subjects are following ;
1. In applying the handicap-understanding program
"Do the feeling and the understanding of the handicapped children change according to the normal children's sex distinction grade and school career? "
2. In the same conditions as the above
"Do the respectively capacity and the activity preference of the handicapped children change? "
I researched each ten normal children in the first grade and in the third grade at Jeok-seong elementary school in Sun-chang county, Jeollabukdo.
I made the handicap-understanding program using the effective methods from existing researches and books. And I put the program into effect eight times for four weeks, twice a week. Before and after putting the program into effect, I inspected preliminary and later and then collected data for research.
I used Siperstein(1980) and respectively capacity, activity preference inquiry paper made by me under an expert's guidance.
After that, each classified data was inspected by t-test.
The acquired results are following ;
1. My research shows that normal children's feeling and understanding toward the handicapped ones is changed affirmatively, after taking part in the program.
2. My research shows that normal children's respectively capacity and active preference is changed affirmatively.
But there is no significant difference according to the normal children's sex distinction grade and school career.
In conclusion, my research shows that the handicap-understanding program is helpful to the normal children's behavior improvement of the handicapped ones.
