Abstract
The purpose of this study was to realize the sequence between kindergarten and the primary education by investigating the kindergarten teachers' and the primary teachers' opinions about teaching letters for the kindergarten children. For the purpose, the problems of this study were as follows.
1) Are there the difference between kindergarten and the primary teachers' opinions about teaching letters for kindergarten children?
2) Are there the difference of level between teaching letters in the kindergarten and in early entrance of the primary?
3) What method of the teaching letters are there in the kindergarten and in the primary school?
4) What is the alternative method, in oder to support the sequence between the teaching letters for the kindergarten children and children of the early enterance in the primary school?
Subjects of this study were 163 teachers(○○teachers of the kindergarten, ○○teachers of the primary) in typical agriculture region located South of Jeon-nam province. the data were treated with χ²test of spass+ pc program.
the results of this study were as follows.
1) Teachers of the primary highlight the necessity of teaching letters for kindergarten children more than kindergarten teachers.
2) In the difference of the level teaching letters, teachers of kindergarten take the period before enterance of primary school but teachers of the primary take the period by pre-semester.
3) All teachers of the kindergarten and the primary school accept the possibility of the teaching letters for kindergarten children but their methods are different.
4) Teachers of Kindergarten are short-time to teach kindergarten children letters but teachers of primary school are not short-time.
5) In order to understand the curriculum of the bothf Kindergarten and primary school, teachers of kindergarten are eager to study in-service training together with both schools.
