- Abstract
- This study is aimed at analyzing how a component of body composition and physical strength affect adult women applying a combined yoga program
for eight weeks and providing some basic data of successful diet exercises to adult women interested in maintaining a slim figure.
A. Changes in the body composition
Change in the body composition showed decrease in weight and percentage of body fat in exercise group after measurement but there weren't statistically significant differences. and there weren't significant differences increased in bmi(body mass index) after the experiment earlier.
B. Changes in physical strength
In exercise group, change in physical strength after measurement showed significant increase in muscular strength, muscle endurance, cardiovascular endurance, agility, flexibility of the body but there were statistically significant differences in muscle endurance, cardiovascular endurance and agility(p<.05, p<.001,) There was significant decrease in explosive muscular strength but weren't statistically significant differences.
As mentioned above, a combined yoga program is considered effective exercise way to adult women interested in maintaining a slim figure. As a result, there weren't statistically significant differences apart from cardiovascular endurance, agility but generally showed positive growth and decrease. These results suggest that a combined yoga program for a long period is hopeful way to adult women interested in maintaining a slim figure and health rather than eight weeks of the short yoga exercise. Further research should implement systematized and subdivided exercise programs considering exercise intensity, frequency, time. Its implementation can be more positive results and more scientific approach will be able to get healthy middle age and old age.
