Abstract
The purpose of this study is to find out the effects of dynamic meditation on hair designers' physical self-perception. To achieve this purpose, the following research questions were established.
Does the dynamic meditation program influence the hair designers' physical self-perception building?
Does the dynamic meditation program improve the hair designers' aesthetic ability(a sub-factor of physical self-perception)?
Does the dynamic meditation program improve the hair designers' health(a sub-factor of physical self-perception)?
Does the dynamic meditation program improve the hair designers' physical condition(a sub-factor of physical self-perception)?
Does the dynamic meditation program improve the hair designers' figure(a sub-factor of physical self-perception)?
To verify the questions above, 10 hair designers from multiple salon were finally selected as subjects of this study. The dynamic meditation program was composed of 12 sessions total and performed for 6 weeks. In order to verify the effectiveness of the program, a scale of physical self-perception were used, and matching pair sample t-test was performed as a statistic method.
The experimental group that received the dynamic meditation program showed significant improvement in aesthetic ability, health, physical condition, and figure shown from the sub-factors analysis from the result of paired t-test.
Through these research results, it can be recognized that dynamic meditation provides positive effects in understanding the hair designer's physical self-perception.
In conclusion, this research has major significance as it targeted hair designers who had been exposed to tremendous psychological & physical stress. Not only did the dynamic meditation program enhanced the designers' health and physical condition it also improved their psychological aspects, such as self-perception and confidence.
