Abstract
Entrepreneurship is the symbol of business tenacity and achievement. Entrepreneurs were the pioneers of today's business successes. But entrepreneurship has not the various researches in korea.
This paper proposed and tested a conceptual model that examined the difference between entrepreneurship and organizational effectiveness in a type(manufacturing, finance, service, etc) and size(large, small and medium; SM, venture) of firm. In addition, It examined the possible role of a firm's type and size as moderating variables in the relationship between entrepreneurship and organizational effectiveness. The entrepreneurship lies in the tree underlying dimensions : innovativeness, risk-taking, and proactiveness. And the organizational effectiveness was composed of organizational involvement, job satisfaction. Seven hypotheses were proposed to test the relationships described in the study.
The data required to test the hypotheses were drawn from a questionnaire. The survey participated with 421 in 72 firms of manufacturing, finance, service, etc. The hypotheses were tested using ANOVA and Multiple Regression.
Using correlation analysis, entrepreneurship was shown to be significantly correlated with innovativeness, proactiveness, organization involvement, job satisfaction but was not shown to be significantly correlated with risk-taking, organization involvement, job satisfaction.
The results of hypothesis testings are as follows:
First, the hypothesis Ⅰ about firm's type and entrepreneurship has appeared to the significant difference in an innovative and proactive entrepreneurship, but has not appeared to a risk-taking entrepreneurship, according to firm's types. Manufacturing firm shown higher innovativeness, and finance firm shown higher proactiveness than other those.
Second, the hypothesis Ⅱ about firm's size and entrepreneurship has appeared to the significant difference in an innovative and proactive entrepreneurship, but has not appeared to a risk-taking entrepreneurship, according to firm's sizes. Venture business shown higher innovativeness, and large business shown higher proactiveness than other those.
Third, the hypothesis Ⅲ about firm's type and organizational effectiveness has appeared to the significant difference in organizational involvement according to firm's types. Finance firm shown higher organizational involvement and than other those.
Forth, the hypothesis Ⅳ about firm's size and organizational effectiveness has appeared to the significant difference in organizational involvement, and job satisfaction, according to firm's sizes. Large Business shown higher organizational involvement and job satisfaction, and venture business shown higher creativity than other those.
Fifth, in the hypothesis Ⅴ about entrepreneurship and organizational effectiveness, the entrepreneurship has influenced positively to organizational effectiveness. An innovative and proactive entrepreneurship have influenced significantly to organizational involvement, and job satisfaction. But risk-taking entrepreneurship has not influenced significantly to an organizational effectiveness.
Therefore, the results of this research, the entrepreneurship has influenced to an organizational effectiveness, and firm's type and size has moderated between entrepreneurship and organizational effectiveness. But a risk-taking among a component factors of entrepreneurship has not influenced to an organizational effectiveness. I think that a concentrative and continuous study about entrepreneurship is needed.
