Abstract: Multiple Input Multiple Output (MIMO) is one of the important wireless communication technologies. This paper proposes MIMO system capacity enhancement by using convolution of periodic circulating vector signals. This signal represents statistical dependencies between transmission signal with discrete noise and receiver signal with the linear shifting of MIMO channel capacity by positive extents. We examine the channel capacity, outage probability and SNR of MIMO receiver by adding log determinant signal with validated in terms of numerical simulation.</summary>

Abstract: In In this study, technique has been suggested according to the calculation of thresholds of histogram based on overlap areas for reducing noise while analyzing the functions of them. Suggested algorithm is to convert histogram extracted from color images to gray level and select overlap areas from extracted histogram. In addition, feature table is configured after extracting histogram in the relevant overlap area while comparing and retrieving for query and database video images by using this feature table. Suggested retrieval system has been confirmed to be more outstanding with retrieval function in video images with more noises than the system that only used color histogram.</summary>

Author(s): Hoh Yoo Ba
Abstract: If normality of an observed data is not a viable assumption, we can carry out normal-theory analyses by suitable transforming data. Power transformation by Box and Cox, one of the transformation methods, is derived the power which maximized the likelihood function. But it doesn't induces the closed form in mathematical analysis. In this paper, we compose some R the syntax of which is easier than other statistical packages for deriving the power with using numerical methods. Also, by using R, we show the transformed data approximately distributed the normal through Q-Q plot in univariate and bivariate cases with some examples. Finally, we present the value of a goodness-of-fit statistic(AD) and its p-value for normal distribution. In the similar procedure, this method can be extended to more than bivariate case.</summary>

Author(s): Eun-Ha Kim; Kye-Ha Kim
Abstract: The purpose of this study was to understand experiences of successful aging of community-dwelling elderly living in the Korean community using mixed methods. This study is a mixed methods research using convergent parallel design. 483 elderly people living in the 2 cities were selected as subjects to collect quantitative data. For qualitative data collection, 6 elderly people participated. The level of successful aging for elderly people living at home scored an average of 4.30 ± .59 out of 5 points (4.46 ± .64 for self-efficacy, 4.31 ± .65 for good self-control, 4.29 ± .70 for satisfaction with children’s success, and 4.26 ± .61 for partnership with spouses). The main themes of successful aging derived by interview were as follows: 1) fulfill responsibilities of raising children as parents, 2) establish a stable life to overcome difficulties, 3) accept the body being different from the past, and 4) live in harmony with people around them. Based on these results, it is necessary to provide useful health care services that can be used in the local community and to provide service utilization information through various routes in order to achieve a successful aging.</summary>
