Abstract
Purpose: To compare the effect of photodynamic therapy(PDT) with verteporfin and intravitreal bevacizumab in patient with wet age-related macular degeneration (AMD)
Method: Author evaluated 29 eyes 29 patient with wet age-related macular degeneration. The 29 patients were divided two groups: photodynamic therapy group and intravitreal bevacizumab group. Each groups received one of the treatment and the visual acuity was evaluated after three months.
Result: There was no significant difference in visual acuity between the effect of photodynamic therapy and intravitreal bevacizumab in patient wet AMD.
Conclusion: The photodynamic therapy treatment and intravitreal bevacizumab in patient wet AMD have the similar effect in improvement in visual acuity.
