Abstract
A study on the main entrance facade design of apartment complexes -Focusing on Gwangju City- Lee, Miran Advisor : Prof. Kang, Hyung-Ju Department of Architecture Graduate School of Chosun University As of 2022, the proportion of apartments out of 19,155,585 residential units in Korea is 12,268,973, or about 64%. Starting with Mapo Apartments in the early 1960s, mass supply of apartments was provided as a housing improvement measure along with rapid economic growth until the IMF foreign exchange crisis, and insufficient legal regulations created poor residential environments. Since 2000, residential environments have improved amid competition among construction companies. After the recession, the rise in sales prices in the real estate market has accelerated since the mid-2010s, and design has become a standard for judging the image and brand of construction companies. The clearest of these standards is a main entrance facade design which is gorgeous and luxurious image has become a standard for determining the image of an apartment complex. This study examined apartment boundaries and main entrances based on previous research. Research data was mainly conducted in Seoul and Gyeonggi-do, and research on local cities was insufficient. Gwangju Metropolitan City was selected among local cities that showed a rapid increase in sales prices nationwide, and based on statistical results, a total of 51 apartments were selected from apartments approved for use after 2015, and the status of the entrance facade designs was surveyed and analyzed. The survey was conducted by dividing it into two-dimensional, three-dimensional, and design elements, and changes in gate design trends in Gwangju Metropolitan City can be seen. Two-dimensional elements were classified and investigated by the road type and material finish of the entrance section and connection with surrounding facilities, and three-dimensional elements were classified into mass form, form composition, elevation division, material texture, and color composition. Design elements were classified and analyzed into signage, lighting design, sculpture, and installation. Through a current status survey, the façade design characteristics of the main entrance to the apartment were organized into three keywords: simple form and composition of divided surfaces, emotional realization through landscape lighting, and harmony between sculpture and objects. The exterior material uses a mixture of two or more materials rather than the existing single material of granite, using contrasting colors to express a three-dimensional effect, and the lighting is more colorful and intense to express the value of the brand. In addition, the image of the border is improved by moving away from the existing simple gate image elements by installing art ornaments at the border, and furthermore, the gate itself is changing to be regarded
